Being constructive: Fixing the Shaman class

Shaman - Image 1World of Warcraft Forums member Danemoth attempts to redefine the term “constructive criticism” with a longish overview on how to fix the much wept over Shaman Class.

So comprehensive is his analysis that he even has a table of contents for it. Sections included in the post are an overview of the general problems with the class and suggestions on how to fix them, a talent overview, a solution to the totem system, and an overall conclusion regarding the whole mess.

Since we’ve said that the thing’s long, we’ll give you guys Danemoth’s assertion for the need of constructive criticism in his conclusion instead of the whole thing. He writes:

I realize many of the people playing healing classes, especially hybrids, are unhappy with some of the things said on these forums and the changes in up-coming patches. (CMs saying Paladin DPS is too high, the nerfs to bear form, without the return of the threat multipliers, and of course, shaman issues) but we need to remain calm and try and present our reasoning once again, even if it falls on deaf ears.

Blizzard response to the post so far? CM Tseric has noted that as usual, he’ll do what he can to pass what’s there on to the devs. Also, even if he can’t really comment on Danemoth’s suggestions he does try to address some of them.

To get all the gruesome details, and the counter-arguments to each suggestion, feel free to head to the large thread via our “read” link below.
