Beowulf to sail towards next-generation consoles
Watch out Beowulf the Viking is on its way!
Centuries ago, any word about vikings will send shivers of fear to anyone who hears it, nowadays, when the word that a next-generation console title about Beowulf, a renowed literary viking, got around, people still started to get shivers, only this time it’s not out of fear, but from excitement.
4HEAD Studios has just announced plans for the releasing of Beowulf on next-generation consoles, the said studio has also earlier confirmed that the title will be appearing on PC’s. Publishers have shunned the Beowulf idea so far, so it’s still qustionable which platform shall support it.
Apart from that setback, however, art and animation studio 3D-IO has agreed to work on the project. 3D-IO Art Director, Igor Posavec, is quite positive about the prospects of Beowulf creation. “3D-IO is renowned for its unique artistic style, and is specialized on delivering stunning 3D graphics of the highest quality. This partnership is an ideal match of skills and will allow us to significantly boost the overall production output, and thus the scale and appeal of the game.”
The latest development about Beowulf is that it will be an action adventure title with combat-focused gameplay. Revolving and set around the age of the Vikings, developers guarantee innovative battle scenes combo’d with effective storylines and well-concepted characters.
If plans pushes thru, Hagar will know the true meaning of the word “horrible”; a lesson Beowulf is surely more than willing
to deliver.
