Bionic Commando Rearmed not for kids: given M rating by ESRB
Here’s another idea which is nearly as absurd as the possibility of giving LittleBigPlanet an M rating: Capcom‘s remake of its classic 2D action side-scroller will be given its own adult-exclusive rating according to several video game rating organizations. To find out more about this rather unexpected development regarding Bionic Commando Rearmed, read all about it in our full article after the jump.
As hard as the idea may be to swallow, the 2D side-scrolling remake of Capcom‘s Bionic Commando will be getting a much more mature rating than people have originally anticipated (similar to the possible M rating that may be given to LittleBigPlanet).
It was recently revealed on the Bionic Commando official website that several major video game rating organizations like ESRB and PEGI gave Bionic Commando Rearmed an adult-exclusive rating due to several gruesome, yet important scenes based on the original title.
Without giving away too many spoilers, the original team created the last scene where the final boss met a gristly and graphic end which warranted the game’s rather mature rating. You can read about a spoiler of the said scene by clicking on the Communicator portion found on the Via link we’ve provided below.
With the development of the game already this far ahead, Judd admitted that “we may as well go all the way” in keeping with the spirit of the original title and included all the gory bits found on the 8-bit version when it first came out. Gamers can expect to see Bionic Commando Rearmed hit the digital download scene next month on the PC, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network.
