BioShock can have up to five sequels, says 2K prez
BioShock‘s a great game. So great, in fact, that the devs decided to make it a trilogy. But why stop there? 2K Games president Christoph Hartmann says that the franchise has the potential to have six games to its name.

Now for optimists out there, you’re probably thinking, “Wow, six games! Now I have five more games to look forward to from this great franchise!”
Now if you’re a cynic, like me, you’re probably thinking “They’re soooo gonna screw up by the third game.” Worry you not, fellow spoilsports, Hartmann promises that that won’t happen:
For Bioshock, because it’s so story driven, the question obviously arises: how long can you do it without turning into The Matrix? The first Matrix was great, the second one was weird and the third one, you thought: ‘Who [making this] is on crack and who isn’t?’
But, then again, look at Star Wars. ItÂ’s a fight between good and evil, just like Bioshock. If we spin it the right way and get the right twist of innovation, we can make six parts of it, as Star Wars did.
But we have to be careful not to cash in. I wonÂ’t name the company, but there was a great racing game years ago. They brought it back year-on-year. If you look at the scores, itÂ’s hard to believe what theyÂ’ve done to it. ItÂ’s upsetting, actually.
Before we start getting ahead of ourselves and start anticipating the second trilogy, we still have BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams (Xbox 360, PS3) to look forward to, which will be released sometime this year.
