BioShock PS3 visuals to be no different from Xbox 360 version
PS3 fans will be getting their own dose of Rapture City when BioShock finally hits Sony‘s next-gen. But what’s driving the anticipation farther is the hope that there will be much better things to come for this version. Well it looks like fanboys are up for a disappointment as Melissa Miller reveals in an interview that there won’t be any difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 version as far as visuals are concerned.
The PS3 is known for its superb graphical capabilities, that’s why every game landing in PS3 territory is expected to showcase excellent visuals. That’s why when an already big game is finally brought in to the PS3, then it is inevitable that people will be looking out for “bigger, better visuals.”
Unfortunately, that won’t be the case for 2K Games‘ famed BioShock. In an interview, senior producer Melissa Miller disclosed that the company is not keen on improving the visuals of the game for the PS3 version, but rather, they are concentrating more on providing for better matching.
“We’re looking to match the quality of the original version. We want to make sure that the water is just as great, and I think you can see from the demonstration, that it looks no different from the 360 version,” so she says.
However, some good may have been had from them not focusing too much on altering the visuals, because they then had more opportunity to work on other aspects of the game, such as the upcoming exclusive download content. The DLC presents the “Challenge Rooms” that is set outside of the main storyline, but is still within Rapture. Plus, there’s also the new Trophies system that’ll definitely get the game more challenging.
Well, you certainly can’t have it all. But rest assured, you’ll definitely be getting more news and updates on BioShock here at QJ. Oh, and the game too, of course, making its way this October.
