One of the showstoppers in last year’s E3 was Mass Effect. Intergalactic wars, a story of epic proportions, gender controversies… This RPG never fails to impress. So, when you know that they’re planning to make this game the first in a trilogy, you can expect massive gears over-clocking to development perfection in the BioWare labs. On top of that, their plans of creating episodic content in between the three installments in the series will surely require some major foresight into the future.

Ray Muzyka from BioWare talks about their plans for the future, and it’s nothing but massive effects snowballing down the future. Part of his interview with teamXBOX reads:

We’ve always thought of the storyline as part of a long-term franchise, and thatÂ’s actually more challenging for our writers, because they’ve got to think long-term. They’ve got to not only build the underlying foundation, kinda like an iceberg, where there’s so much of the base that you donÂ’t see. […] Downstream, youÂ’ve actually got to plan out where the storyline is going. It has to be a really satisfying, climactic conclusion to the main game, but then there has to more beyond that for the second or third game.
