BK credits Xbox 360 games for its success
Symbiosis. A relationship between two different entities for mutual benefit and dependence. Maybe that is the only term that can describe what happened with hamburger restaurant chain Burger King and Microsoft after the two decided to come up with three games for the Xbox 360.
We reported early on that Sneak King, Big Bumpin’, and Pocketbike Racer sold a total of two million copies just after six weeks of being out in the market. Now, BK is reporting a 40% rise in quarterly profit and is crediting the games for their success. The company’s CEO, John Chudsey, specifically mentioned that the Xbox promotion indeed drove sales and customer traffic.
As of now, a total of 3.2 million copies of the said games have been sold, at US$ 3.99 each. Well, Sneak King was fun as well as the other two. Given this success, we can only expect similar ventures from Microsoft this year. Uh, Krispy Kreme game anyone?
