Frank Pearce, executive vice-president of product development for Blizzard Entertainment, talked about the development of future Blizzard titles World of Warcraft 2 and StarCraft 2, as well as Blizzard’s stance on StarCraft: Ghost and a possible Diablo 3.
One important thing that came out of the interview was Blizzard’s emphasis on focus: as was also stated in our previous article, Mr. Pearce said that Blizzard is still busy completing the content for the Wrath of the Lich King update to even think of a sequel to World of Warcraft at this point. He also mentioned that development on StarCraft 2 is proceeding quite nicely since Blizzard is also very passionate about doing a good job with StarCraft 2.
What about Diablo 3 and Starcraft: Ghost? With World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 development taking much of Blizzard’s time, Mr. Pearce noted that, while Blizzard appreciates the fans’ concern with the Diablo and StarCraft RTS series, the company’s focus would remain on Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft 2 for now.
