Bluetooth High Def?
In recent news, Bluetooth is adopting new radio technology to allow High Definition transfers for video devices such as Camcorders for display on your television, to uses for such as PSP’s or iPods for the transfer of audio files.
These devices all need the ability to send large files, Wood said. For instance, a camcorder with WiMedia technology could transmit high-definition video wirelessly to a TV set in the same room.
The technology will still only hold true for short distances, about 10 feet; but the ability to transfer wirelessly at USB or Firewire speeds is definitely has promise.
The first products with high-speed Bluetooth may show up late next year, with wider availability in 2008, said Michael Foley, executive director of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.
