Bodycount should have been purely co-op

bodycount_announce_02If it were up to him, Stuart Black would have made Bodycount a co-op game all the way through. But as fate would have it, it wasn’t up to the director, it was up to the game.

“It became really obvious – and it pained me – that there were key moments, two or three key moments, where it was absolutely vital that you were by yourself to feel that isolation,” said Black in an interview with Destructoid.

“And I was really like ‘Oh no, I can’t believe this!’ and I tried to think, ‘How can I get around this?’ and it was like, story-wise… I can’t. I have to have [those moments] that were too important to drop. So that was a bit of a bastard.”

So there. Bodycount will have to go solo mode, but they still managed to squeeze in co-op. Black describes them to be similar to the missions in Spec Ops in Modern Warfare 2, but much more thorough.
