Bookr plugin for iR Shell Unrolled
Legendary developer of PSP iR Shell Ahman has released a plugin for his great homebrew shell program that allows you to view PDF and TXT files using a modified version of the popular homebrew PDF reader Bookr. Ahman modified the original code of Bookr 0.70 to make it work as an iR shell, meaning you don’t have to leave the iR Shell file browser to read your PDF or TXT files.
In order to use this plugin all you have to do is copy the contents of the folder bookr070 into one of the free iR shell plugin directories located in x:/IRShell/EXTAPP (where x is your PSP). You then have to run iR Shell configurator in order to complete the plugin install by assigning the file suffixes (PDF and TXT) to the plugin locations.
I advise that you copy the Bookr plugin to 2 of the free iR Shell plugin directories in order to get the most out of this, as the configurator only allows you to allocate 1 file extension to each plugin.
It’s nice to see more and more iR Shell plugins for the PSP, it’s becoming like a the PSP version of Windows (but without the crashes). Now you can view PMP movies, PDF or txt files, and extract RAR/ZIP files all from the comfort of iR shell. Note to Sony – take tips from iR Shell if you ever redesign the XMB.
As you’ve probably guessed, iR Shell is required to use this plugin.
