Developer BottleRocket Entertainment has had an on-and-off relationship with Namco Bandai‘s Splatterhouse remake for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The studio was first hired to develop the remake but was then relieved of its development duties due to “performance issues”. After BottleRocket got booted off the project, the remake was then handed over to the in-house studio who developed Afro Samurai.

Now we’ve got word that they’re back to working on Splatterhouse, in a manner of speaking.

A BottleRocket rep recently confirmed that Namco Bandai has taken on members of the former Splatterhouse team to finish up the remake. The rep clarified that, however, that “It is my understanding that Namco only offered contracts, not full-time employment.”
