A few months after creating Jewel Thief and the ever-useful Algebra/Calculus Assistant, homebrew developer andyauff managed to come up with another fun yet brain-tickling homebrew game for the PlayStation Portable, Box Maze. The premise is simple: collect all green boxes, and avoid black boxes or it’ll be game over.
Box Maze will have players collect green boxes in a simplistic, yet complicated maze. You can choose to go off the screen; if you go off the screen to the left, you will emerge from the right side of the screen. In the same manner, if you disappear into the top most side of the screen, you will appear from the bottom. This game mechanic is integral to solving some mazes.
Still in its preliminary version, andyauff did not use any external images for this homebrewed game, and the entire script only clocks in at about 4.88kb. If you want some quick quick brain teasers, you can check out Box Maze from the link below.
The readme file included with the download doesn’t contain any installation instructions, so you better make sure that you know what you’re doing before attempting to run the game on your PSP. Box Maze can run on both the original PSP and the PSP Slim. Enjoy!
