Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway Ubidays 07 video interview
More info abound the highly-anticipated Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in this video interview with Executive Producer Randy Pitchford. In it, we learn more about how much of the video game was painstakingly modeled to reflect their real-life counterparts, what Hell’s Highway actually is, and see just how fast and frantic the actual gunfights are in-game.
Besides the backstory, the part that really got our attention was the game’s squad combat mechanic forming a pretty large chunk of the game. Players will be able to lead multiple squads and order them around. We’ve all seen this sort of mechanic before in other shooters, but the actual activity of doing so felt clunky at best, moreso when there’s a firefight going on. If you’re worried about that, then watch closely at the gameplay bits. You’ll notice that the actual commanding is fast, smooth, and effortless – and this, during a full-on enemy confrontation.
There’s also some other stuff that’s to take note of, namely how sweet everything looks. From the grenade explosions to the completely destructible environments, Ubisoft‘s Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is definitely a title to watch out for as it marches on towards its Holiday 2007 release.
