Bungie promises Halo 3 will be even better
“We screwed up.” That’s Bungie‘s take on their successful second installment to the Halo series for the PC and XBox 360.
Although suffering from a rather short and almost anti-climactic finish for the single player campaign, Halo 2 more than made up for its shortcomings in its multiplayer action. And don’t we Xbox 360 fans know it? PC fans will soon be able to join in once Halo 2 gets released for their machines later this year.
According to Bungie engineer Chris Butcher, they had about five weeks to polish Halo at the end. “We had none of that for Halo 2,” he said, “We miscalculated, we screwed up…it kills me to think of it.” He wasn’t even kind to the multiplayer aspect of Halo 2. It was a “pale shadow” of what it should have been. Well, then we think expectations just jumped two miles higher for Halo 3, don’t you think?
As Butcher put it: “I know Halo 3 is going to be so much better.” That said, we’ll just keep watching the trailer and looking at some pictures and keep hoping it comes out pretty soon.
