Bungie staff talk Halo 3 with 1Up
A few days back, Gamespot got a chance to talk to some of Bungie‘s happy-time fun pals about the direction the Halo series was moving towards and we could pretty much say at that time that the overall scheme for Bungie’s cash cow was to create the universe and expand it through different forms of media.
Not one to be outdone, the folks at 1Up were able to kidnap two members of Bungie’s crew for an hour-long podcast touching on life (you know, the thing outside games), love (of multiplayer fragfests), and the pursuit of new consoles. Oh, and they had something about Halo 3 too.
Seriously though, the heads of the 1Up network got to talk with Brian Jarrard and Frank O’Connor about all the sordid details of the upcoming game. From the company’s fears of keeping Halo fans happy to the ideas that are spawning improvement in Halo’s multiplayer system, there’s a lot of content for Halo fans to drool over in this podcast.
One thing though. As we said earlier, the podcast is around an hour long. While you could listen to the whole thing, try skipping to 2:35 in the podcast for info on the distribution model and Halo 2 multiplayer maps, 14:10 for Halo 3 multiplayer beta talk, 43:25 for their thoughts on the new control scheme for Halo 3, and 42:00 for talk about making a bong out of Master Chief’s helmet. Enjoy!
