Bungie Studios: Halo 4 NOT in development
As we all know, Bungie Studios‘ Halo 3 is the last and concluding entry in the current Halo story arc. We’re not certain if you’ve thought of this before but as much as the Master Chief is concerned, this is probably the last time he will be making an appearance on a video game.
On the other hand, there’s also this school of thought saying that the Halo franchise will be driven even further because of the current success of Halo 3. It will only be logical for Microsoft to secure this franchise as an Xbox 360 exclusive and probably come up with spin-offs or even a full-blown sequel.
But as far as Bungie Studios is concerned fans will not be seeing Halo 4, the studio is instead looking at exploring other ideas for video game titles. Cinematic Designer Lee Wilson had this to say:
There’s a lot of people who have been working on Halo much longer than us two have and they’re really interested in exploring new games, new stories, and whatever comes out of those conversations is what we’re going to pursue. We’re still going to make games for us.
Multiplayer Producer Joe Tung also added, “[The team was] figuring out right now what we’re working on next. We really don’t know what that is yet but as soon as we know, everyone else will know. Halo 4 is not in development”.
