Bungie’s Weinland and Cowan to keynote Game Design Expo 2008

We’ve just picked up word that Bungie Studio’s Jay Weinland and CJ Cowan have been announced as the keynote speakers for next year’s Game Design Expo. We imagine this news will be especially interesting for the Halo fans, as Cowan and Weinland are members of the third installment’s development team. Who exactly are Jay Weinland and CJ Cowan? For the guys unfamiliar with their names, both are members of Bungie Studios‘ dev team responsible for Halo 3 on the Microsoft Xbox 360. Weinland, in particular, was the game’s Audio Lead, while Cowan was the Director of Cinematics.

That said, we’re letting the readers know that both will be present as keynote speakers for next year’s Game Design Expo in Vancouver, BC. The pair’s keynote address is dated for January 19, and will cover the tools and processes that they used in creating the sounds and visuals you’ve enjoyed for Halo 3.

Other speakers for the event include developers from Eidos, EA, and Stormfront Studios. Next year’s Game Design Expo is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 20 – visit us again in case more info is released.
