Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare best-selling title worldwide for 2007

Box art for Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Image 1While Nintendo had everything in the bag when it came to nabbing the prestige for having the best gaming platforms for 2007, Activision is wavied its own standard for its own successful title when Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) was announced as the top software title in terms of units sold worldwide for the previous year.

According to the numbers brought forward by The NPD Group, Chart Track, and The GFK Group, CoD4 has sold over seven million copies since its launch last November.

Developed by Infinity Ward, this latest iteration to the Call of Duty series has garnered more than 18 perfect score reviews in various gaming websites, as well as over 40 combined Editor’s Choice and Game of the Year awards in the U.S. alone. Aside from that, it has also been nominated for 10 categories from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and is considered the top selling title on the Xbox 360 console.

Will Kassoy, Senior Vice President of the global brand management for Activision had this to say about their successful title:
