Calling All Cars to be released in March
Sony Computer Entertainment has recently announced that David Jaffe‘s upcoming vehicle-based action game, Calling All Cars would hit the PlayStation by March. A Sony representative was quoted by IGN to have said:
It’s really coming along just as expected…
If it continues like this, then it should be ready to go before the end of March.
Calling All Cars was formerly known as Criminal Crackdown, and is said to be a hybrid of games such as Demolition Derby, Twisted Metal, and Bomberman. Yeah, explosions, crashing cars, criminals, and, yeah, even more crashing cars. The game is said to have a very pick-up-and-play style of gameplay. Also, judging from the released preview media, the game has a very wacky look to it, all thanks to its cell-shaded, and cartoon-y style.
For a game that advertises that its gameplay is a hybrid of relatively violent games (‘cept for the cutesy Bomberman), it is quite refreshing to note that it looks like it has lighthearted mayhem in mind. Think Tom and Jerry-type violence or Loony Tunes-type mass-destruction.
