Capcom blogs: Big announcements for this month

Capcom making big announcements this Monday, and at London's Gamer's Day - Image 1 Don’t look now, but Capcom‘s apparently planning to announce something big within the next few weeks. Such was the news being circulated by moderator Brian Dunn of the Street Fighter HD blog, who detailed that the company was going to be dropping some “major bombshells” by this Monday (October 15), and London’s upcoming Gamer’s Day this October 17.

Further along in the torrents of questions and what-ifs being asked in the blogs, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD producer Rey Jimenez dropped by to further confirm Capcom was indeed planning to release some big news soon. Both Rey and Brian didn’t provide for any further details aside from the announcement, however, which leaves plenty of possibilities for Capcom’s mystery news.

Now, in case you were hoping this announcement involves the US release of Japan’s Sengoku Basara X (Devil Kings X), it is not. Quoting Brian’s statement:

Lastly, as I’ve stated several times before, no home version of Devil Kings X (Cross) has been announced in any territory. As you can see (http://www.capcom.co.jp/basara-x/ – helps to know Japanese) it is only coming to the arcade (System 246 and 256), and it’s labeled as an “arcade video game.” I challenge anyone to find where this game has been announced for a home console anywhere. You don’t launch a brand new game without at least announcing it a few months before you want people to buy it. That’s just common sense.

Top picks for possibilities in the Capcom blog included a new installment of Street Fighter. Given that Monday’s a few more days away, that leaves us with ample time to sit back, and imagine just what Capcom’s got up its sleeve. We hand the panel over to you, readers – feel free to state what you think the announcement will be about.
