Capcom Chief wants more positive news about PS3

Capcom honchoIn an interview with Next Gen.biz, Charles Bellfield, Capcom U.S.A.’s marketing VP, reacted to the bum rap that the PS3 has managed to acquire since its first delay. Bellfield says that unlike us mere mortals, he can phone Sony head honchos as if they were his old army buddies and that he meets with them more frequently than Martha Stewart throws Tupperware parties.

So if anyone knows anything about the PS3, its Bellfield. “I know what the hardware can do, I can appreciate it every day… I know what its potential is.”

And because he knows something we don’t, he feels that the media isn’t being fair to Sony. “I would like more positive angles of the PS3 to be portrayed within the media… it has a huge potential.”  And by potential, he means the Playstation brand image as well as its “great” technical capabilities. “I would definitely like to see more of a positive story about PlayStation out there in the marketplace.”

Well, if that is to be the case, then here’s to hoping that Sony will stick to their word that there would be no more delays with the console’s release, as well as prove analysts, who have been foreseeing woe and suffering for the PS3, wrong.
