Imagine using your PSP as a controller for a toy car. Cool, huh? Now, check out that image plastered below. Hey, what do you know! It’s a PSP that looks to be controlling a toy car, just like you imagined! Yes, and that picture is actually a Sony patent application. Oh, the possibilities!
According to Siliconera, this patent was filed by SCEE, and apparently has the intention of operating a remote car with a camera. Further details reveal that the car will be controlled via Wi-Fi. As the patent would describe it, “a user may control the car so as to spy on their friends.. then upload the stored video images to a website.”
Not only that, the car can also be used in “augmented reality zones” for racing. Basically what this idea should translate to would be a virtual build-your-own race track game. Sounds promising, right?
As it is only a patent, however, it’s just as good as a piece of paper on a drawing board. Hopefully we’ll hear something official from Sony on this matter soon. In the meantime, do wipe your drool, okay?
