Cartoon Network New Media announces new browser technology for bringing games to PS3, Wii

Cartoon Network New Media - Image 1Cartoon Network New Media has announced that it will be expanding its games distribution efforts to include video game consoles using a new browser technology from AFI’s Digital Content Lab called MEGA Series.

MEGA Series is a custom application accessible through a console browser and a PC browser and is being developed by the AFI Digital Lab. Once the application is built, the interface will be customized for the Flash capabilities of the target distribution platform.

The application is compatible with the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii video game consoles and can also be adapted for distribution to a broad array of devices.

MEGA Series content – designed to be played simultaneously with streaming video and delivered episodically over time – will be based on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim shows. MEGA Series is scheduled to roll out sometime in late 2007 to early 2008.
