Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is off to 3D land. Will it live up to the expectations of solid Castlevania fans? David Cox of Konami sits down with the Official Xbox Magazine UK to reveal the new gimmicks they’ve put up in place to appease the discriminating gamer.
Cox explains the new features of the game: “As you progress, you will learn new moves and combos. [You’ll] upgrade the weapon to allow additional attacks and features. For example, you get a grip ability that allows you to latch on to scenery in the game and indeed on to enemies too.”
He also explained that the game’s new design will provide a more linear experience and are actually level-based. This is a step back in the direction of the original Castlevania games, as opposed to the Symphony of the Night iteration, where they opted to create an open world for more exploration. “Some levels are huge and offer multiple routes while others more ‘go from A to B.”
With Hideo Kojima at the helm of this new Castlevania project, it is unsurprising that people get high hopes for its success. It sure would be interesting to see if the team will deliver. The rest of the interview can be found in the source link below.
