Castlevania: Symphony of the Night available at the PlayStation Store
Konami‘s Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is now available at the PlayStation store for US$ 9.99. If you’ve never played this game, then it is a very good time to pick it up and play it because it was and arguably still is one of the best 2D side-scrollers.
It was first released on the PlayStation way back in 1997 and was well received by the gaming community. The game made it to the “Greatest Hits” line of re-released best-selling PlayStation games and received multiple awards such as PlayStation Game of the Year from EGM and Game of the Year from PSM.
The game’s story takes place during the year 1797, five years after the events of Dracula X (remade for the PSP as Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles) where Richter Belmont defeats Count Dracula. Four years later, Richter vanishes and is later shown to be under the control of the dark priest Shaft.
The shift in the balance of good and evil causes the son of Dracula, Alucard, to awaken. He discovers that Castlevania has once again manifested itself and sets out to discover what has transpired while he slept.
So if you’re looking for an engaging adventure game, we strongly recommend that you go pick-up the game. Be forewarned though that it will take up about 384 MBs of your HD or MemStick space and hours of your free and (not so free) time.
