Celebrities auction off custom Guitar Hero II controllers for charity

Guitar Hero II for charity - Image 1RedOctane, Activision, and MusiCares have recently announced that they will be holding a charity auction event, and that various celebrities have agreed to pitch in.

Dubbed as “Rock, Paint, Bid”, the project will basically consist of celebrities who will each be given a Guitar Hero II controller for them to design, customize and personalize.

The finished pieces will then be put on public display at Hi-Lo in Austin, Texas from March 9 to 18, 2007 and an online auction will be held from April 3 to 13, 2007.

The proceeds of the auction will go to the institution known as MusiCares, which was established in 1989 by The Recording Academy. The aim of this organization is to provide financial, medical, and other forms of critical assistance to struggling musicians. By doing this, MusiCare aims to positively impact the music community.
