Cheaper, compact PS2 coming early 2008
Sony‘s pride, the Sony PlayStation 2 which recently celebrated its 7th anniversary, is still going strong and will even get a new redesigned model. What can only be described as a “compact” Sony PS2 with built-in power supply is expected to be on shelves early 2008 with a US$ 99 price tag.
According to MCV UK, Sony is able to manufacture PS2 units with built-in power supplies at a lower price.

After posting 120 million PS2 consoles sold, it looks like Sony is still putting money on the old horse. Giant publishers Eidos, Ubisoft Entertainment, and Atari believe a price-cut should help revitalize sales figures.
