Check out Cid’s Final Fantasy XIII look and Vanille’s eidolon
The guy’s face, physique, and last name may change, but since Final Fantasy II, every major Final Fantasy title has featured a guy named Cid. Final Fantasy XIII‘s Cid is a departure from the predominantly older versions of the character, appearing as a young soldier instead.

Cid Reins, as he is known in XIII, is a soldier working with Sanctum. His allegiance with the government puts him at odds with Lightning and her crew, but history (excluding XII, of course) teaches us that there’s still a chance he could switch sides. And think about it: he already follows the heroes’ naming convention. Anyway, here he is. Click the images for the bigger pics.
And here we have Hecatoncheir, Vanille’s eidolon-slash-mobile weapons platform. The sheer number of guns sticking out of this eidolon reminds me of Leena Toros’ Gun Sniper LS. I wonder if it has a full blast attack too. Again, just click on the thumbnails for the big picture. Final Fantasy XIII is set for a March 9 release in North America and Europe.
