Sad news, indeed. Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment has announced that they have now sold off their third-person shooter title, Stargate Resistance. The new ownere of Resistance is now the startup company called Fresh Start.
Hopefully, that name of the new owner will stay true, given the circumstances.Stargate Resistance was Cheyenne’s meal ticket to survival, with the company’s financial stability and further development of Stargate Worlds heavily hinged on Stargate Resistance‘s success.
Cheyenne, over the past year, has been racked with controversies, from employees complaining of not getting paid enough, devs leaving, layoffs, bankruptcy, lawsuits and other dramatic scenario.
Fresh Start, on the other hand, is in a joint venture agreement with CME, who in turn has the otion to buy back these assets in the future if they may so wish it.
Here’s hoping that all works out for all those involved, particularly cheyenne Mountain Entertainment.
