Children of Mana DS A Hit in Japan
The Super NES action RPG Secret of Mana was one of Square Enix formerly Squaresoft) most beloved 16-bit titles back in 1993. Since then the series took a nosedive and the subsequent titles never made it to the U.S. The success of current Children of Mana for the Nintendo DS in Japan could change all that. Children of Mana has all the personlaity of a Mana game, from the instantly recognizable art style to the traditional sprite-based characters. Critics, despite using the Japanese-only version, found it likeable. Particularly the full-motion anime-style video in the intro and throughout the storyline. So far SE has made no announcements on its release date outside Japan.
