City of Heroes Issue 8 trailer: To Protect and Serve

It’s a wonder Paragon City’s still intact after every sortie of heroes and villains (Reference: every episode of “Powerpuff Girls” where the City of Townsville is reduced to rubble, only to reemerge unscathed for the next episode. Could be a federal budget surplus we don’t know about). And with Issue 8: To Protect and Serve of City of Heroes, Heroes will once again rise to protect and serve the citizens of the City of Towns – er, Paragon.

And so, as this new trailer from GameVideos promises us true believers (sorry, Stan… :P), players will embark on new missions (covered one before), meet (or create) new heroes and villains, unlock new costumes and powers, enter new arenas for Hero-vs.-Villain mashups, and adopt new pets.

Surprisingly, the new costumes include schoolgirl-inspired and William Wallace motifs (no, really, watch the trailer). Now, we can easily guess the battlecry of the kilt-wearing hero – “FREEEEDOOOOM!!!” – but of the schoolgirl? “Hit Me Baby, One More Time”? Guess how many villains will be willing to take her offer up. Maybe NCSoft and Cryptic Studios should think of including the Powerpuff Girls in Issue 9.
