Cliff Bleszinski loves the PS3 Blu-ray player but hates the controller

Cliff Bleszinski, like everybody else on this great big ball of dirt we call Earth, has opinions. His take on the PlayStation 3? The Blu-ray drive is great, but the controllers sucks something major.

“I hate the f*cking controller,” he told videogaming247 during a recent London press event for Gears of War 2. “I’m sorry, I can’t stand the PS3 controller. I love the Blu-ray player.”

The Blu-ray player wasn’t the only thing Bleszinski found good about the PS3, though. citing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Heavenly Sword  as “some great games for PS3”. It doesn’t look like he’ll be making any games for the PS3 in the near future, however, as he said that he’s pretty comfortable with the Xbox 360, particularly its controller.

The controller statement is a sentiment shared by many a gamer, perhaps. I for one totally hated the SIXAXIS when I first tried it. The L2 and R2 triggers didn’t really feel all that comfortable and, well, say what you will, I know it’s a little nitpicky, but I really didn’t like the weight. It was too light. I’ve grown used to it now, though, and I like the button layout’s familiarity.
