Colors! v1.06f
Jens Andersson has released Colors! version 1.06f for the Nintendo DS. Colors! is like a simple version of Photoshop for your handheld. It takes advantage of the device’s stylus which can act and function like a real paintbrush, giving you the extra mobility and control you can’t get from a mouse (unless of course, you draw better with the mouse).
The homebrew application basically takes an image and adds some effects ranging from the gorgeous to the whimsical; it’s all up to you as the artist, really. The new version includes some great new additions to the program including pressure sensitivity and Wi-Fi support. Here are all the features, including the ones from the previous versions:
- Hard and soft circular brush
- Pressure-sensitivity can affect opacity and brush-size
- 512×384 image resolution with 2 stage zoom
- Replay the whole painting process of an image
- Hue-circle and luminance and saturation-triangle style palette
- Load and Save to memory card
- Send painting as e-mail using Wi-Fi
The author is also planning to put in these features in future versions:
- Fixing of minor painting artifacts
- Better pressure calibration
- Simple levels tool
- Improved Wi-Fi support
- DS-to-DS collaborative painting
Users are advised to go over the readme file before using the homebrew application. Try out the app and even show us what you were able to create with Colors! version 1.06f.
