Come On Down To Nintendo’s Camp Hyrule 2006

nintendoThose who possess a My Nintendo account, take notice! Nintendo will once again be accepting registrations for this year’s Camp Hyrule on July 25 – July 27 at CampHyrule.com.

Camp Hyrule, an annual virtual camp sponsored by Nintendo of America, was first held in 1995, and has since grown into Nintendo’s largest official online function. The name is taken from the Legend of Zelda setting, Hyrule.

In true camp fashion, each and every registered camper is assigned to a virtual cabin, where he or she can meet other gamers and interact with Nintendo’s gameplay experts in exclusive Camp Hyrule chat rooms and message boards. Daily events include live chat shows, games, art activities and surprises galore from Nintendo Power Magazine.

Incidentally, the Camp Hyrule website has an image of a road sign that says “Camp Hyrule: 238, 857 mi”. 238, 857 miles is actually the distance from the earth to the moon, and this has led quite a few people to believe that this year’s camp will revolve around the upcoming title Super Mario Galaxy.

Camp Hyrule will officially open its doors to eager campers on the week of August 14, 2006.
