Command & Conquer 3 screens = massive scale
These fresh screenshots courtesy of Planet CnC depict in full detail the scale of warfare that breaks out in Electonric Arts L.A. (EALA) studios’ Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Definitely bumping up from Generals and Battle for Middle Earth, you can really see GDI, Nod, and alien forces fight within the gameplay environment, right alongside battleships (why aren’t you doing anything?!), city parks, and enemy bases. SAGE (its game engine) never looked better – and this is from a guy who thinks Generals was an improvement to the C&C series (yes, I am regularly followed by cries of “Heretic!” on the streets).
But that’s not what got QJ field commanders jumping off their seat. It’s the banner image to this article. Submitted by a Planet C&C reader, it depicts an alien Planetary Assault Carrier base destroyer in the background, with eight Invader-class alien fighters and the “coolest” deploy animations in the game.
Those alien carrier-type ships? Cool as Kane can be, but unnervingly familiar. Sneeze it with us. PROTOSS CARRIER.
Clearly Tassadar has failed us. Come on, Blizzard! When’s the next StarCraft?!
A few more pretty landscapes being made so unpretty by war after the jump.
