Connect multiple monitors via USB
Startup Newham research have come up wit ha way of connecting monitors through a USB cable, rather than the standard DVI/VGA monitor cables to allow quick and easy connection of monitors. Peripheral manufacturer Kensington have already signed up as a customer for this new technology, and plan to use it to create a docking station for Laptops.
This new technology would easily allow home or office users to connect multiple monitors to the same PC, saving time and money. Newhams so called “NIVO” technology compresses data to allow the USB cable to handle the amount of data being transferred, so it would not be suitable for high-demand processes such as games. Kensington’s Laptop docking station using this technology is scheduled for release in June, and will cost an estimated $169.99.
