Cooking Mama over one million units served in Europe

Who would’ve thought that Office Create’s Cooking Mama would be such a smashing success in the video game market in Europe. Already, the cooking sim has had over 1 million satisfied customers and is ranked as the most successful title 505 Games has released to date.

Who would’ve thought that Office Create’s Cooking Mama would be such a smashing success in the video game market in Europe. Already, the cooking sim has had over one million satisfied customers and is ranked as the most successful title 505 Games has released to date.

Virtual chefs all across Europe have sliced, chopped, and sauteed their way on both the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii with the first two games initially released for their respective platforms. The simplistic style and the numerous culinary-based mini-games have captured the hearts of budding chefs since its release in September 2006.

Ian Howe, 505 GamesÂ’ Managing Director was ecstatic with the ground breaking sales of the game. He commented on the matter, saying:

These fantastic results vindicate the hard work and dedication from everyone at 505 that has gone into making this our most successful franchise to date. WeÂ’ve set ourselves a lofty target, but now weÂ’re all keen to see how quickly we can get Cooking Mama 2 to one million!

Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends is expected to be released in Europe early next year. We’ll just have to see if the sequel to this cooking simulation phenomenon will have the same success as its predecessors.
