CPS1PSP final version and source code released

Ryu against HondaNJ ends one of his many, many, many homebrew projects today with the release of the final version of CPS1PSP – the Capcom Play System 1 emulator for the PSP. Amen! There was only one bug that NJ had to fix in CPS1PSP v1.0 before saying “voila” in Japanese and that was the state save/load for Pang!3.

Along with the final version of CPS1PSP, NJ has also released the source codes for his other homebrew arcade emulator for the Neo-Geo: NeoGeo PSP.

Neo-Geo is a cartridge-based arcade and home video game system from SNK noted for its colorful 2D graphics and high-quality sound. A major platform in the 1990s, the arcade and home systems were made obsolete by Capcom’s CPS-2.

And now little our tribute to NJ’s CPS1PSP Final Version. The Capcom Play System 1 (aka CPS-1) is an arcade system board that first appeared in 1988 with such games as Forgotten Worlds, Street Fighter II, 1941: Counter Attack and Mega Man: The Power Battle just to name a few.

Meanwhile ,CPS1PSP first appeared on QJ as Capcom CPS1 Emulator Alpha2 back in July 24. Two days later NJ (is he one man or a team of talented developers?) released the emulator’s beta 2 version followed by beta 3 a few days later. Last week NJ unveiled the almost-final CPS1PSP v1.0 and promised to release its source code with the final update. And here we are!

Give NJ some love for a job well (and quickly) done!
