Crash Commando was inspired by a whole lot of different games the past 20 years, but one that you’d probably find most reminiscent of would be JETPAC on the Commodore VIC-20. Now, we all love retro games. But what’s gonna make this even more lovable is that it does accede to the needs of the gamers today.

Check out the features they incorporated for this one:

  • Frantic, adrenaline-pumping gameplay with exaggerated, slapstick violence!
  • Fight on the ground and in the air, using jetpacks or in vehicles!
  • Choose between several varying weapons, super weapons and stationary weapon systems!
  • 8 maps!
  • 1-12 players online play!
  • Team-based and deathmatch game modes!
  • Single-player vs bots game modes!
  • Trophies!
  • Online ranking boards!
  • Player Profile with persistent stats and Duty Records!
  • Voice support

See, pretty up to date, eh? Anyhow, it’s a multiplayer game, but there is an option to go commando — er — solo. Either way, you’re sure to get hours upon hours of fun. Here are some of the things you can busy yourself with in the game:

Single Player

  • Boot Camp – engage in 16 preset missions
  • Custom Game – create custom games and play against easy, medium and ard bots

Multiplayer

  • Host migration support – a game created will still run as long as there are players in the game, even if creator leaves

There’s gonna be more details and info to come, so keep it posted here.
