Criminal Crackdown new screens
We’ve already announced earlier David Jaffre and Incog‘s recent collaboration on the Criminal Crackdown downloadable game for the PS3, and this time around we’ve picked up more screenies of its fast and funny gameplay.
Criminal Crackdown’s a very simple smash ‘n steal multiplayer setup, where a player picks from one of four selectable cops’ cars, as they compete to haul in an escaped criminal running around the 3/4 view map. Being the latest incarnation of the creators of Twisted Metal and Jet Moto, this game is bombs, missiles, magnets and explosions aplenty, with players repeatedly blasting each other to smithereens.
If it sounds violent, it is. But given it’s all rendered in a light, cartoony cell-animation style, and the fact the (indestructible) convict-in-question repeatedly gets launched into the air like a football, this game’s definitely slipping away from the realm of the darkly humorous atmosphere of Twisted Metal, and more into the goofy, unpredictable ridiculousness of the Wacky Races.
Only a non-playable demo version was displayed on the Gamer’s day celeb though, and prices or release dates have yet to be revealed. Just keep in touch as we find more news on this latest development. For now, we bring you the screenies:
