Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII playable demo “by end of 2006”

Estuans interius, ira vehementis... Sephiros!

Vive la jeuxfrance! We finally have news on Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII since TGS (and that far back’s like the history of Planet in gaming journalism), and it’s Jeuxfrance’s translation of Famitsu. That’s like three degrees of English-by-Babelfish if you ask us, and this writer’s français is tres terrible. But it’s possible to get the meat of the story.

Jeuxfrance writes that in a Famitsu interview, Tetsuya Nomura reveals that Square Enix will probably present a playable demo of CC:FFVII by the end of this year. It seems that, based on the French translating the Japanese, they’ve managed to complete scenario work – which probably means the story elements are mostly locked down already, if not tight. The team’s currently working on improving the we-still-have-to-see-it combat system and on voice recording.

Still need a recap of what CC is all about, no? (Sigh). Set five years before FFVII‘s story, Zack boyfriend of Aerith, Cloud ashamed of returning to Nibelheim, Sephiroth discovers Project, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, suffering later leads to weird experiments by Hojo (don’t know if that’ll be part of the game), elements from Last Order, Before Crisis, and Dirge of Cerberus.

Hope I didn’t spoil anything with that flashback. Salut!
