black--article_imageCriterion Games’ Black originally released in 2007 for the PS2 garnered a lot of rave reviews. While such positive reception would have warranted an immediate Part 2, the devs are being prudent about it, much to the disappointment of the title’s fans.

“The team is always flattered by the vast number of requests for a sequel to Black, ever since it launched,” an EA spokesperson admitted to the Official PlayStation Magazine. “However, there are no plans for the foreseeable future for a sequel to Black. The team is very focused on Need for Speed.”

While the NFS franchise has definitely been a tried and tested success, it surely wouldn’t hurt to try out a new one, right? Hopefully they’re not so set on this no-Black-sequel thing. But for now, that should kill the rumor about a sequel now in the works at Criterion’s studios.
