Criterion’s Need for Speed title set for 2010
Electronic Arts‘ Need for Speed racing franchise has been on a downward spiral in the past few years, and even EA admits it. They’re now taking steps to recapture the franchise’s glory days, and among their gambits is tapping Burnout devs Criterion Games for a new Need for Speed title set for release in 2010.
Electronic Arts‘ Need for Speed racing franchise has been on a downward spiral in the past few years, and even EA admits it. They’re now taking steps to recapture the franchise’s glory days, and among their gambits is tapping Burnout devs Criterion Games for a new Need for Speed title set for release in 2010.
EA Games label president Frank Gibeau recently revealed that the Criterion-developed Need for Speed will be released next year. Gibeau noted that the game has been under development now for some time, which should hopefully remedy the rash of mediocre entries — the blame for which Gibeau places squarely on EA for failing to put adequate resources behind the franchise.
