Critical Mass Effect to Take Place at E3 in May

As GDC 2006 collapses unto itself, another star is forming in the Gaming Galaxy – E3. From that sector comes this burst of news. Bioware (Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate) announced Mass Effect, its intergalactic action RPG for Xbox 360, will be playable at E3 this May.

Mass Effect is set Set in the 23rd century, when humans are “on the cusp of new advancements in space exploration” only to realize that we really are not alone. In fact, we are “kind of an outsider in the galactic hierarchy.” The impeding conflict (which is where the fun butt kicking begins) takes place between races of artificial intelligence and organic life. Published by Microsoft Game Studios, Mass Effect will be exclusive to Xbox 360.
