Cryptic Studios “looking at” making games for PlayStation 3
Cryptic Studios, the guys behind Champions Online and Star Trek Online, have confirmed that they are looking at developing games for the PlayStation 3. Hopefully they’re also thinking of porting over some of their MMOs to the console.
We found out earlier this month that Cryptic Studios is looking to hire a programmer for the PlayStation 3, sparking talks that they’ll be porting their MMOs over to the console.
Cryptic Studios is behind the established MMOs, City of Heroes and City of Villains. What gamers expect to see on the PlayStation 3, however, are Star Trek Online and Champions Online, which are more likely to make the jump to consoles. Star Trek Online, especially, since it will also be released on the Xbox 360.
Now the studio has confirmed that it is indeed looking at developing games for the PlayStation 3, but coyly refuses to name which titles that will make it to the platform:
Cryptic is dedicated to creating amazing cross-platform MMO game play. At this time we are looking at developing games on the PlayStation 3 but have no announcements regarding specific titles that might be in development for the platform.
