Crytek reveals minimum and recommended specs for Crysis

Crysis - Image 1Crytek has finally announced the minimum and recommended system requirements for their visually-stunning shooter Crysis. The minimum requirements are quite close to the leaked specs we posted a while back.

The biggest difference is in the minimum free hard drive space needed to install the game. Previous reports had it pegged at 16GB, but according to the official specs – which incidentally were revealed by Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli himself –  the game will need only 12GB. It’s still a sizable chunk, but it’s manageable.

Crysis will launch on November 13, so you still have some time to upgrade your PCs in case they don’t meet the system requirements yet. Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements:

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS – Windows XP or Windows Vista
  • Processor – 2.8GHz or faster (XP); 3.2GHz or faster (Vista)
    • Supported Processors: Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz (3.2GHz for Vista) or faster, Intel Core 2GHz (2.2GHz for Vista) or faster, and other similar CPUs.
  • Memory- 1GB RAM or 1.5GB RAM (Vista)
  • Video Card – 256MB
    • Supported chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT + or similar GPUs. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Integrated chipsets are not supported. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required.
  • Hard Drive – 12GB
  • Sound Card DirectX 9.0c compatible

Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS – Windows XP / Vista
  • Processor – Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz
  • Memory – 2GB RAM
  • GPU – NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar
