Crytek: We haven’t seen the best out of the PS3 yet
Nope, the PS3 most certainly has not been pushed to its limit yet. Karl Hilton, Crytek UK‘s managing director, is of this opinion, as divulged in an interview with Develop. The best is yet to come, and we’re all waiting for it.
Nope, the PS3 most certainly has not been pushed to its limit yet. Karl Hilton, Crytek UK‘s managing director, is of this opinion, as divulged in an interview with Develop. The best is yet to come, and we’re all waiting for it.
“I don’t think we’ve seen the best out of the PS3 at all,” he said, “and I definitely think one of the best things about Crytek and CryEngine is that we’re now in the best position to get the most out of the hardware.”
He also mentioned Haze and how the team encountered a lot of development issues, “which meant it wasn’t the game it should have been. A lot of them were technical issues; the PS3 is a powerful machine but a difficult one to get the best out of.”
The Big Thing is yet to come from the PS3, the way he looks at it, and he is confident that CryEngine does give them a headstart on it.
Crytek UK was formerly known as Free Radical.
