Cure Poison bug will get fixed in patch 2.1.0, says Ommra
The last time we heard about the World of Warcraft Cure Poison bug about a month ago, all Ommra could offer was a promise that the issue has been forwarded to the developers.
A little background first. Cure Poison is a Shaman and Druid (restoration) ability that cures poison effects – though druids have a Abolish Poison, a much more effective cure (which makes this mainly a Shaman problem). The problem was that the skill is apparently useless against rogue poisons, regardless of Vile Poison and Master Poisoner talents. After the thread has spanned over a little over a month, Blizzard poster Ommra finally has the final update one this concern – there was quite a bit of confusion whether the problem was regarding weapons. Anyway, here it is:
Ok, so I had the wrong information on when this bug was fixed. Apparently it didn’t get fixed in the last patch (as you noticed), but will get fixed in 2.1.0 instead. The change will be that the difficulty of dispelling the rogue‘s poison is based on the level of the player instead of the level of the weapon the poison is applied to.
There you have it shammies. Just be patient for the next World of Warcraft patch (the eight hour downtime for the maintenance going on live as we speak and quite possibly patch 2.0.12 too.) Stay tuned for more updates.
