Even though Spring is here when things should be flourishing, there's still a drought... in terms of Wii consoles that is. According to Infendo, people are still lining up just to get their hands on Nintendo's Wii. There might be regular shipments, but they're still not enough to satisfy the hunger of consumers. Find out why in the full article.
It's been months since we reported on the Nintendo Wii drought that happened last year during the holidays. Today, surprisingly, there's still an apparent shortage of the console. Infendo, for example, was able to find out that people were still lining up 'til late at night in Wal-Mart just so they could get their hands on the ever so popular Wii.
This is one prolonged nightmare to those who still have yet to acquire the console. Imagine this happening to you on a normal day, at midnight, in the middle of March. People who were in the line were asked about their opinion regarding this matter.
Boy, oh boy, do they have some interesting conspiracy theories. A customer said that this situation is done deliberately. How would people get the console if there are those who hoard it. A Wal-Mart electronics employee agreed with the customer's concern. He said:
Oh, theyÂ’re definitely doing this on purpose. TheyÂ’re saving them for Christmas, just like last year, so it builds demand and then weÂ’ll sell a ton of them over the holidays.
Furthermore, the employee added that even if they get regular shipments of the Wii, it's still not enough to cater to the demand of the people. Well, this is certainly peculiar. If you ask this writer's opinion, it's one prolonged drought that should have been resolved by now.
